The institution said Saturday that a rhyme moratorium after a soft launch is now part of the cultural record, after early testing showed several couplets gaining momentum faster than the public arts office could regulate.

For 90 days, publicly funded poems may approach sound correspondence but must not complete it without review.

"Rhyme is powerful infrastructure," said Vera Linn, poet laureate. "We owe residents a cautious rollout before words begin finding each other too easily."

How It Works

Poets will file intent-to-rhyme forms and disclose whether any line endings have prior relationships.

Public Response

Writers reacted with concern, while one school group asked whether orange had been placed under protective supervision.

What Happens Next

The office will revisit the policy after gathering feedback from librarians, wedding toasts, and a bell that keeps getting ideas.
