The star said through instruments that it does not use all the radiance it is paying for.
Observatory Reports Star Has Requested Lower Billing
Astronomers say the star remains bright but has asked to be classified under a less demanding plan with fewer symbolic obligations.

Commercial notice
Researchers said Saturday that that a star has requested lower billing is now part of the lab record, after spectrographic readings included repeated fluctuations consistent with customer service fatigue.
The star appears to want a plan that covers light, heat, and limited inspiration but excludes mythological overages.
"The star is not dimming," said Dr. Olin Rave, senior astronomer. "It is asking why it should pay for being a metaphor in poems it never approved."
How It Works
Observatory staff submitted the request through the standard stellar portal and printed the confirmation for committee review.
Public Response
Poets objected to the possible downgrade, while utility analysts said many celestial bodies are seeking more transparent pricing.
What Happens Next
The observatory expects a response within two billing cycles, unless the request is routed through constellations.
